After some testing in museums this week it was time to test my new camera and RF100-500 lens during some fast moving action. Our trip started at Spangdahlem. Trying to catch the local F-16's and some of the temporarily stationed F/A-18G Growlers. Sunday was somewhat successful, but monday was a total bummer.
A whole day of rain and almost no flying until late afternoon. Tuesday even worse due to some serious fog and low clouds. So of to Ramstein earlier as expected.
Good weather here for almost 2 days. But the activity on the base was below normal expectations. Local C-130's were in the circuit for a long time, giving me ample possibilities to try different settings on my camera.
After checking the weather at Nörvenich, we decided to cut our trip short. Much rain expected. After spending a whole day under our umbrella's at Spangdahlem on Monday, we were not in the mood for another day like that.
So again mixed feelings about this trip. Did not see what I expected to see and photograph. But got to test my camera in ideal, and less than ideal circumstances.
