Thursday had a lovely day visiting Beauvechain AFB, organized by Gilze Rijen aviation spotters (GRAS).
Second time I went along with this group to visit Beauvechain AFB. As always our guide did its best to cater to our needs and wishes. Sometimes there was some opposition and sometimes regulations were against us. Sadly we were not allowed to take pictures inside the NH-90 Caiman maintenance hangar due to the sensitive nature of the exposed equipment. None of the based helicopters were flying. Luckily two Dutch NH-90 Caiman helicopters were there to take on fuel. She we could watch them during startup and take-off.
The local Marchetti's also flew rather good, considering that their numbers ar dwindling very fast. As plus we could also photograph the arrival of the Red Arrows, returning from a foreign deployment. This combined with some nice sunny weather made it a relaxed and enjoyable day out. Thanks GRAS for making this possible.
